African Leaders Attitude To Terrorism

Seriously is it just me or our African leaders are clueless?

I am sure you are aware of what happened in Garissa Kenya recently. 147 university students were killed by the militant Islamic group Al Shabab. Guess what! The world moved on as if nothing had happened the very next day. I mean this incident is meant to be trending worldwide but media houses are barely saying anything about it.

You remember Charlie Hebdo, it was in the news worldwide for WEEKS and people sent their condolences from everywhere around the world. Like that was not recent enough, the German plane crash recently nko? The whole world once again acknowledged it. Those people died through not fault of theirs.

So please what happened to the Kenyan Students? Young African kids that are just trying to make something out of their lives and to have their lives cut short by some terrorist groups and no one even acknowledges something happened! Its just awful.

Their president at least came out to address the country and deployed soldiers on the same day.......

This reminds me of when the chibok girls were kidnappped, how long did it take our president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to come out to address the nation and calm the populace? More than 2 weeks.

So Kudos to President Kenyatta Of Kenya for not following in GEJ's footsteps. To the other African presidents who didn't come out openly to condemn and sympathize with Kenya, this is a BIG shame.

If the other Continents don't care about Africans, why can't we look after our own?

What happened to being your brother's keeper?

I hear they want to do some summit about Boko Haram? About blooming time!
It will be interesting to know what the outcome is.

  1. Brilliant article Bunmi. It's such a shame that African leaders are not looking out for their own really.

I sincerely hope we'll get there at some point eventually.
